This session will showcase how green infrastructure contributes to economic development and job creation. A brief overview of a number of initiatives will be presented to illustrate the opportunities and challenges of investing in green instead of grey infrastructure. How can investing in green infrastructure create and maintain both high-skilled and low-skilled jobs? What is the role of innovation? What could be the role of the investment plan? What new markets can emerge, in particular for SMEs? What are the benefits for the low-carbon economy?
